Twice a year the artists of Baardskeeredersbos open their studios and homes. Who can resist a peek into the creative space of an artist ? The beautiful wide open countryside of the Southern Overberg lends itself to this picturesque event, where visitors can take a gentle walk to artists' exhibiting inside the village and a leisurely drive along rural roads to those who live on farms and small holdings just outside.  In its fourth year, the art route has gone from strength to strength, proving an extremely popular cultural event.  Art lovers are invited to meet the painters, photographers, sculptors and crafts-people, learn about their skills and experience the surroundings that provide the source of their creations.  Culture is mixed with the delights of living in the country,  intimate gardens, homegrown produce, fynbos flowers, village folk, majestic skies, sweeping mountains and landscapes, farm environments, animals - cats, dogs, cows horses, donkeys, pigs, chickens and geese...  Nourishment for the body and soul, the Baardskeerdersbos Art Route combines  high quality art with an unabashed pleasure at the joys of rural life.
