Joshua Miles was born, and grew up in the Western Cape. After studying fine art at the University of Cape Town he met his Scottish wife in Hermanus, and spent a few years living in Scotland and London, before coming back to live in Baardskeerdersbos.

Joshua finds his inspiration in the landscapes of the Overberg and Little Karoo. He is intrigued by light and water and translates it into oil paintings and reduction woodcuts.
